Illegal refining Sites in DeltaThe Nigerian Navy’s Forward Operating Base (FOB) Escravos successfully dismantled five illegal crude oil refining sites in the Obodo Omadino community of Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State, as part of the ongoing “Operation Delta Sanity II” aimed at combating crude oil theft and economic sabotage.

The Commanding Officer of FOB Escravos, Navy Captain Ikenna Okoloagu, disclosed that the coordinated operations, which took place between November 5 and November 19, 2025, resulted in the seizure of approximately 13,050 to 13,350 litres of stolen crude oil concealed in dozens of dugout pits and polythene sacks. This action aligns with the strategic directives of the Chief of Naval Staff to maintain sustained pressure on those involved in illegal refining activities and safeguard the nation’s critical oil assets.
