The Lagos State Government plans to decommission the Olusosun and Solous 3 landfills, which have surpassed their lifespan, as part of an effort to improve waste management and create a cleaner city. This initiative will shift Lagos from a “collect and dump” system to a circular economy model, converting the sites into waste-to-energy facilities while maintaining operations at functional landfills like the one in Epe.
