Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has revealed that recent floods in Damboa and Chibok LGAs have caused widespread damage, affecting a total of 1,209 homes across six communities. Gumsuri, Garjang, and Wovi in Damboa experienced the greatest impact, with 1,103 houses severely damaged, while 106 homes were affected in Mboa, Whuntaku, and Yarchida in Chibok. SEMA, acting under directives from Governor Babagana Zulum, conducted immediate assessments and is distributing relief supplies, additionally addressing damage from windstorms in Rumirgo, Askira‑Uba ⟧14. Working closely with state leadership, SEMA continues to coordinate disaster response and support displaced families in mitigating the aftermath of these natural events.
