Environmental and science organizations, including the Sierra Club, Environmental Integrity Project, California Communities Against Toxics, and the Union of Concerned Scientists, have filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration. The suit alleges that the administration unlawfully removed public information related to climate change and environmental justice from federal agency websites.

These resources included data and tools crucial for tracking pollution impacts, assessing infrastructure risks from climate disasters, and supporting equitable energy and transportation policies. The plaintiffs argue that the removal of these taxpayer-funded resources endangers public health and safety, particularly for communities already burdened by environmental hazards.

They are seeking the restoration of six critical federal websites that were taken down early in the administration’s second term. The Environmental Protection Agency, a named defendant in the case, has declined to comment on the matter.
