Bauchi validates climate ChangeThe Bauchi State Government officially endorsed its new Climate Change Policy on July 14, 2025, aiming to strengthen the state’s resilience against climate-induced food insecurity. The policy was validated in a two-day stakeholder dialogue organized by the Ministry of Housing and Environment, with support from the Global Initiative for Food Security and Ecosystem Preservation (GIFSEP) and Oxfam Nigeria. It addresses recurring issues like flooding—which washes away thousands of farmlands and displaces residents—and promotes measures to enhance agricultural sustainability, disaster preparedness, and ecosystem protection. The policy marks a key step in Bauchi’s efforts to integrate climate action into food security planning.
