The Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) inaugurated a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), supported a one‑year climate adaptation initiative in Nguru, Yobe State, called the Sustainable Farmers‑Led Adaptation Strategy (SFLAS) to Climate Change. The project serves about 2,000 smallholder farmers and pastoralists across 10 communities, including Maja‑kura 1 & 2, Dirani, Gari Mamman, and Birnin Nguru. It also aims to reduce land degradation by 80%, achieve 50% adoption of climate-resilient practices among farmers, empower 125 women to produce and market livestock feed alternatives, and establish seedling banks to improve local seed access.
