The second part of the fifth session (INC‑5.2) of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee under UNEP officially opened in Geneva on 5 August 2025, following the first part held in Busan in November/December 2024. Delegates from around the world are working intensively until 14 August 2025 to finalize and approve the text of the legally binding global plastics treaty. Thus, forward it for consideration and adoption at a future diplomatic conference of plenipotentiaries.
