Delta Flood controlDelta State’s Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) has launched a comprehensive flood control initiative in Asaba, focused on improving drainage infrastructure across key areas of the city. The operation involves constructing and rehabilitating storm drains in locations like Ogbeogonogo market, behind Asaba Specialist Hospital, Owa‑Alero, Osubi, Okuokoko, Ugolo‑Okpe, and the Warri axis, as well as implementing dual road drains to better manage heavy rainfall. The agency emphasized that alongside these efforts, residents must refrain from dumping refuse into drains and maintain local tributaries feeding the main channels, as blockages significantly reduce their effectiveness. This proactive strategy aims to bolster Asaba’s resilience against seasonal flooding and environmental degradation.
