Climate AdaptationThe Green Climate Fund (GCF) has approved over USD 120 million to strengthen climate adaptation efforts in Ghana, the Maldives, and Mauritania, with projects designed by UNEP focusing on nature-based solutions, climate-resilient agriculture, early warning systems, and water security. The new funding aims to bolster resilience among vulnerable communities—benefiting over 3.5 million people—particularly in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and the Sahel region. These initiatives underscore a collaborative effort between the GCF and UNEP to empower countries to proactively manage climate impacts with tailored, locally led, science-based solutions.
